The Hamilton Institute is dedicated to providing a bridge betweenmathematics and its applications in lcT, biology and other disciplines.
Founded in 2001 with support from Science Foundation lreland, theHamilton Institute has been internationally recognized for its work acrosscommunication networks, mathematical biology and fundamentalmathematics. Current areas of interest for the institute include theimprovement of privacy in online systems, the application of probability toimmunology and the enhancement of randomised network protocols. The ethos of the Institute is the application of maths to solve real-worldproblems. Researchers at the Institute have strong industry links and haveworked on national and international projects funded by groups includingSFl, the HEA, the EU's FP7 and Enterprise lreland, Other collaborators haveincluded researchers at lBM, CERN and MIT,
